Amy Kennelly Viellieu is a longstanding Chicago education professional who focuses on student enrichment and has completed the Academy for College Admission Counseling program. In her role with the Posse Foundation, Amy Kennelly Viellieu interviews approximately 70 financial aid candidates from among a 2,600-strong pool each year. The funds distributed benefit participants in an impact-driven college access and youth leadership development initiative.
A graduate of Purdue University, Ms. Kennelly Viellieu earned her BS in industrial management and minored in industrial engineering. She worked with IBM Corporation in the 1980s and managed the sales of custom software and hardware business systems.
Entering the educational sphere in 2006, Ms. Kennelly served as a trustee with the college preparatory North Shore Country Day School. Among her accomplishments was coordinating the efforts of volunteers and committee members that raised $1.2 million toward scholarships and capital projects.
Ms. Kennelly Viellieu presently serves on the Parents Executive Committee of Bowdoin College and on the Women’s Board of Northwestern University. She has been a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling.
